Taylor Fritz Stuns Carlos Alcaraz to Lead Team World at Laver Cup

Carlos Alcaraz lost his first singles match since the US Open to Taylor Fritz at the Laver Cup, ending his unbeaten streak against Fritz. Post-match, Alcaraz praised Fritz's performance, noting he was more aggressive and better on the first shots, which he attributed to the slow conditions. The defeat contributed to Team Europe's poor second day, with Team World leading 9-3, but Alcaraz has opportunities to avenge the loss in upcoming doubles and singles matches.

Team World Dominates Laver Cup, Leaving Team Europe in Disarray

Team World holds a commanding 10-2 lead going into Day 3 of the Laver Cup, but Team Europe is not giving up. They need to win all four matches to have a chance at reclaiming the title. The doubles match between Hubert Hurkacz/Andrey Rublev (Team Europe) and Ben Shelton/Frances Tiafoe (Team World) will be crucial, as a win for Team World would secure their title defense. Casper Ruud (Team Europe) will face Taylor Fritz (Team World) in the second singles match, and Andrey Rublev (Team Europe) will take on Frances Tiafoe (Team World) in the third singles match. If the score is still not decided, Hubert Hurkacz (Team Europe) will face Felix Auger-Aliassime (Team World) in the fourth singles match.
