
Kyiv Hit by Massive Russian Strike as Fires Rage and Heritage Sites Come Under Fire
A massive Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv on June 15 knocked out power for about 140,000 residents, ignited fires across the city including at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra UNESCO site, and left at least five people dead with dozens injured as authorities warned the threat remained; relics were evacuated from the monastery, and damage extended to areas including the Dovzhenko Film Studio where a large costume collection was destroyed, with 27 missiles fired in about an hour across the Kyiv region.
