TESS Discovers Exoplanet with Record-Breaking Orbit
NASA's exoplanet-hunting satellite, TESS, has discovered a gas giant called TOI-4600c with one of the longest known orbital periods, orbiting its star every 482.82 days. This planet is also one of the coldest among those spotted by TESS. The discovery is significant as it provides insights into the formation and migration of different types of planetary systems. TESS also found a second "warm" Jupiter, TOI-4600b, in the same system. The findings were published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.
