French Secretary of State faces backlash for Playboy photoshoot.
Marlene Schiappa, French secretary of state for social economy and associations, has faced criticism from her own party for posing for the cover of Playboy France. The cover comes amid a social crisis in France over President Emmanuel Macron's decision to reform the pension system. Schiappa, a feminist author before her career in politics, defended her decision to pose for the magazine, stating that women's bodies should be able to be exposed anywhere. Playboy's editor also defended Schiappa, calling her the most "Playboy compatible" of ministers in Macron's cabinet due to her stance on women's rights.
