Northern Lights Put on Rare and Dazzling Show Across North America
Wisconsin residents were treated to a rare sighting of the northern lights on Thursday night due to clear weather conditions and a solar storm. The Menominee Indians of Wisconsin believed the lights were a sign of giant spirits in the north that used the light to hunt and fish at night. Solar storms occur every 11 years, and we are currently entering solar cycle 25.
