Game Store Employee Defends Shop Amid French Riots, Drawing Viral Support
A Micromania employee in Nice, France, went viral for standing in his store's doorway to deter rioters during weekend protests over the cost of living. The unrest, fueled by inflation and austerity measures, saw approximately 800,000 protesters and around 1,500 shops vandalized. While the employee was assaulted, he maintained that the violence represented a minority of the protest movement. Government officials have responded with curfews and promises to address public grievances, while the NFL confirmed its Paris game will proceed despite the unrest.
