Carnegie Deli Returns to Midtown in Former Rival's Space
Carnegie Deli is set to reopen on September 15, 2026, at 834 Seventh Avenue, occupying the former location of Stage Deli. The iconic Midtown institution, closed since 2016, is being led by Sarri Harper, granddaughter of former owner Milton Parker. The new venue features a meticulously restored interior with wood-paneled walls, an illuminated sign, and a 'Wall of Fame' displaying celebrity patrons. The menu retains original recipes for corned beef, pastrami, knishes, and cheesecake, served by waiters without a reservation system. This move marks a symbolic return to the neighborhood where Carnegie and Stage Deli were historic rivals.
