Firefly and Millennium on Standby for High-Stakes Space Force Mission

Firefly Aerospace and Millennium Space Systems are on standby, awaiting orders from the U.S. Space Force to launch the Victus Nox mission, a rapid-response space mission to low Earth orbit. The mission aims to accelerate the planning and execution of national security missions. Once alerted, Firefly will have a 60-hour window to transport the payload to the launch site, conduct fueling operations, and integrate it with the Alpha rocket's payload adapter. The payload is a small imaging satellite built by Millennium Space, and once deployed, Millennium will attempt to activate the satellite within 48 hours and begin tracking and imaging objects in orbit.

Firefly Rockets to Launch High-Speed Space Force Mission.

Firefly Aerospace and Millennium Space Systems are set to launch the Space Force's Victus Nox mission, an experimental test run of national security capabilities in space. The mission calls for flying a Millennium Space Systems-built satellite on Firefly Aerospace's Alpha rocket on short notice. The Tactically Responsive Space program within Space Safari aims to work with spacecraft and rocket builders to create "the capability to quickly respond to on-orbit needs" on "very short timelines." The mission is a "space domain awareness mission," intended to track other objects in orbit and predict possible space threats.
