"Major Science Publisher Retracts Faulty Climate Study"
Springer Nature, a top science publisher, has withdrawn a study on climate change impacts after an investigation prompted by concerns raised by the AFP. The study, titled "A critical assessment of extreme events trends in times of global warming," was found to manipulate data, cherry-pick facts, and ignore contradictory evidence. The paper's authors were identified as signatories of the World Climate Declaration, which repeated debunked claims about climate change. This incident highlights concerns about peer-review standards in the academic publishing industry, as other misleading studies have also been published in peer-reviewed journals.
