Ex-con husband of Mount Vernon police official arrested after family drive-by
James Lackard, an ex-con and husband of Mount Vernon Deputy Police Commissioner Jennifer Lackard, surrendered to Bronx police after two days on the run and was arraigned on an attempted murder indictment alongside his wife and their son, Chase Lackard, who prosecutors say drove the family to a Bronx target in a botched drive-by. Jennifer Lackard, who had been fired earlier for allegedly acting as a getaway driver for her son, a reputed gang member, was arraigned with Chase and released on $75,000 bail, while James was ordered held on $300,000 bail.
