The project has been showcased at The Game Awards 2025, and NetEase’s move follows the 2024 shutdown of Ouka Studio.

The Yakuza Complete Series on GOG is missing credits for key developers and support studios, including series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi and producer Daisuke Sato. The severity of the changes means that the GOG credits end up being notably shorter than the credits for the Yakuza releases on Steam, despite using a bigger font and wider spacing. The Steam versions remain unchanged, with the credits listed in full. The removal of credits has been criticized as unnecessary and disrespectful to the people who worked on these games.
