11 dead after skydiving plane crashes near Nancy, France
Eleven people, including five skydiving students and five instructors, were killed when a skydiving plane crashed shortly after taking off from Nancy-Essey Airport near Tomblaine in Meurthe-et-Moselle, France, with officials citing a malfunction that sent the plane plunging nearly vertically near a populated area. The tragedy follows a separate skydiving-plane crash in Missouri earlier this month that killed the pilot and 11 skydivers.
