Luis Díaz's Goal Sends Powerful Message to Kidnappers

Luis Díaz, a player for Liverpool, scored a goal during a game against Luton Town and used the moment to send a message to his father's kidnappers. Díaz's parents were reportedly kidnapped by the National Liberation Army in Colombia, with his mother being rescued but his father remaining missing. "UN Authorized to Oversee Colombia's Historic Peace Accord with Rebel Group"

The United Nations Security Council has unanimously authorized the U.N. political mission in Colombia to monitor the implementation of a cease-fire agreement between the government and the National Liberation Army, the country's largest remaining guerrilla group. The council expressed its willingness to do the same if a cease-fire is reached with another armed group, the Estado Mayor Central. The U.N. has been monitoring a 2016 peace accord between the government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), but violence between rebel groups has persisted. The resolution also allows for an expansion of the U.N. mission's mandate if further cease-fires are agreed upon.
