Deep-Sea Researchers Capture Rare Dumbo Octopus Sighting Near Palau
Scientists from the Ocean Exploration Trust and NOAA captured a rare live sighting of a Dumbo octopus (Cirroteuthis) while exploring an unnamed seamount near the Palau Marine Sanctuary. The researchers expressed visible excitement during the encounter, noting that the animal is typically found in much deeper waters.
