Goliath Tactics: Studio Tips for Dominating the Underhive

A Warhammer Community piece sharing Rob from the Warhammer Design Studio’s guidance for building a Goliath gang in Necromunda. It covers keeping a squad of 8–10 Fighters with roles in Close Combat, Objective Control, Suppressing Fire, and Utility, while leveraging sturdy close-quarters power, strong melee weapons (UnWieldy trade-offs considered), and ranged options like the stub cannon. It highlights gene-smithing choices (Adaptive Mind, Redundant Organs) to tailor fighters, and emphasizes campaign development through Advancements, Train actions, Work Territory for credits, and use of the Trading Post and Doc/Fit Bionics. The article also notes the new House Goliath Underhive Journal and a first Necromunda FAQ released with the edition, plus practical tips for adapting to different enemy rosters and scenarios, with the if-it-feels-fun-it’s-okay ethos at its core.

Necromunda's new edition streamlines rules while expanding your gang options

Necromunda: Skirmish introduces a cleaner, faster ruleset that preserves the hive-city narrative while expanding options: gangers gain eight specialisations with a free starting skill, you can recruit more Brutes and Hangers-on (within gang balance), and Leaders/Champions/Gangers/Prospects can equip any gear from the Trading Post. New end-of-battle sequences streamline upkeep between games; combat updates place close combat in initiative order, limit attacks unless activated, require Firepower checks only for high-fire or malfunctioning weapons, and give every fighter a Save stat. Scenarios are deck-generated and territory rules grant boons and battlefield effects (such as Toxic Vats), all aiming for more variety and quicker play. The Necromunda: Skirmish core set goes on pre-order soon, with new lore and miniatures teased as part of the rollout.
