Army seeks budget-friendly long-range anti-drone missile
The U.S. Army is pursuing the Next Generation C-sUAS Missile (NGCM) to defeat Group 2–3 drones with radar-guided intercepts, targeting initial performance of 6 km altitude and 16+ km range (deadline Aug 20 for proposals) and ultimately 8 km/25+ km; it must integrate with the Coyote Launcher and existing radars, with fixed-site and mobile variants and a launch time under five seconds. The program aims for TRL-7 by FY2027 and 50 missiles ready by 2028, at a target unit cost under $150,000 for a 5,000-missile buy.
