Shake Shack Goes Vegan with New Menu Items.
Shake Shack has launched new plant-based menu items at all of its 260 locations in the US, including a Non-Dairy Chocolate Custard and Non-Dairy Chocolate Shake made with NotMilk, a vegan milk that mimics dairy. The fast-food chain has also added the Veggie Shack, a meatless burger made with mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa, to its national menu. Shake Shack worked with Chilean company NotCo, which uses an AI-powered platform to create plant-based versions of animal products, to develop the new menu items. NotCo's products have previously been available in South America but this marks the first time they have been available in the US foodservice sector.
