Dundon-led bid approved to buy Portland Trail Blazers in about $4.25B two‑part deal
Unanimous approval from the NBA Board of Governors paves the way for Tom Dundon’s group to purchase the Portland Trail Blazers for roughly $4.25 billion. The sale will close in two parts, the first on March 31, 2026 and the second no later than September 1, 2028. The move follows Paul Allen’s estate putting the team up for sale in 2025; Dundon, who also owns the Carolina Hurricanes, is set to lead the franchise’s next chapter for Rip City.
