Three killed as Piper Cherokee crashes near Bowie homes
A single-engine Piper Cherokee crashed late Saturday near a Bowie, Maryland neighborhood, killing three adults on board. The aircraft, likely a training plane from a Montgomery County flight school, was en route from Ocean City, NJ to Montgomery County Airpark. The wreckage was found around 3:45 a.m. in a wooded area near a townhome community. The NTSB and FAA are leading the investigation, and identities are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
