Haunting final audio emerges as cargo plane vanishes off Karachi coast
A Boeing 737 cargo aircraft operated by K2 Airways with five crew aboard disappeared after departing Sharjah for Karachi. Radar data showed rapid altitude changes, including a sudden descent and a sharp turn before contact was lost about 287 km west of Karachi. The last transmission reportedly indicated the plane was “rolling or floating.” Pakistan’s prime minister said the aircraft likely crashed into the Arabian Sea, and search-and-rescue operations involving the navy, air force, and ships have been deployed. The plane, manufactured in 1999 and later converted to a cargo aircraft, is reportedly K2 Airways’ only plane; if casualties are confirmed, it would mark Pakistan’s first fatal air crash since 2020.
