Pentony Conducts Unprecedented Polygraph Sweep on Joint Staff Amid Iran War Leak Probe
The Trump administration ordered approximately 50 Pentagon Joint Staff members to undergo polygraph tests in August 2026 to investigate leaks regarding dwindling US munitions stockpiles in the Middle East. The unprecedented move, which included questions about classified disclosures to the press, was part of a broader crackdown on information leaks following reports that critical weapons like Patriot interceptors were running low during the Iran conflict. While the White House denied shortages, the administration has intensified its anti-leak efforts through new task forces and restrictions on media access.
