Pa. to Publish Vaccination Rates for Thousands of Schools Amid Measles Surge
Pennsylvania will begin posting vaccination rates for thousands of public and private schools online this fall following a Post-Gazette investigation that linked declining immunizations to a measles outbreak (at least 64 cases in the southeast). The dataset will cover vaccines for measles, polio, hepatitis B, varicella and pertussis and will include all schools; officials urge a standardized exemption form to curb misinformation and enforcement gaps. In 2025, about 16,000 students were admitted without the legal vaccines across 128 schools, highlighting herd-immunity vulnerabilities that this transparency aims to address.
