Dodge, in collaboration with Hemmings and Suppy’s Garage, transformed two production-based 2026 Charger Scat Packs into 750-horsepower manual drift cars—BOOST Coupe and RPM—featuring rear-wheel drive, custom turbos, race fuel, MoTeC, and bespoke suspension and safety gear; they debut at Roadkill Nights and will appear at Gridlife Laguna Seca and FuelFest, highlighting the SIXPACK platform’s drift potential.
Dodge will unveil the next, more powerful Sixpack Charger at RoadKill Nights on August 8, 2026, at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, suggesting Hurricane-powered output will surpass 600 hp but still not exceed the 670-hp Charger Daytona EV; current Charger variants top at 420 hp (R/T) and 550 hp (Scat Pack). The brand notes the Charger remains slow-selling with a large dealer inventory, and a Hellcat V-8 return is still unconfirmed.
Dodge is testing a Challenger Drag Pak equipped with the Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six engine, which is set to replace the iconic Hemi V8 in future models due to emissions and fuel economy requirements. While the Hurricane engine can produce impressive horsepower, it falls short in terms of acoustics, lacking the thunderous sound associated with the V8. However, with potential for increased power and modifications, Dodge may be able to improve the sound of the Hurricane engine in the future.
