The wreckage of a 2,000-year-old Roman ship has been discovered off the coast of Italy near the port of Civitavecchia. The cargo ship, estimated to be over 20 meters long, was found laden with intact Roman terracotta jars known as amphorae. The discovery, made by the Carabinieri police's art squad using a remotely operated robot, provides valuable insight into ancient maritime trading routes.
