
DOJ reassigns lead prosecutor in Brennan case after questioning charges
The Justice Department has removed Maria Medetis Long, the lead prosecutor overseeing the Brennan investigation, after she told superiors there wasn’t enough basis to charge former CIA Director John Brennan and planned to withdraw; the probe concerns how the Obama-era DOJ opened the 2016 Russia‑interference inquiry, with the DOJ saying such reassignment is routine as the FBI prepares to interview witnesses and the accused has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.
