Belarusian Flight Attendant Joins ISS Crew on Soyuz Launch
Marina Vasilevskaya, a flight attendant from Belarus, became the first Belarusian to fly into space aboard Russia's Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, joining cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky and NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson on a mission to the International Space Station. Vasilevskaya, selected through a nationwide contest, will spend 12 days on the station before returning to Earth with another crew. Her brief visit enables two other crew members to remain on the station for an additional six months. This historic launch marks the first time a flight attendant has flown into space, and Vasilevskaya's selection over 3,000 female candidates highlights her work ethic and adaptability.
