Jordan's 1998 Finals Jersey Shatters Basketball Record at $14 Million
A game-worn, autographed Michael Jordan jersey from the 1998 NBA Finals sold privately for $14 million, setting a new record for basketball memorabilia. The sale, facilitated by Hunt Auctions, marks the highest price ever for a basketball item and the second-highest for any game-worn jersey in sports history. The buyer, Miami investor Ron Firman, acquired the red road jersey worn by Jordan during Game 2 against the Utah Jazz. This transaction is the third 1998 Finals jersey to exceed $10 million, following sales of Game 1 and Game 3 jerseys in 2022 and 2025, respectively.
