Another round of heavy rain is expected to move into Massachusetts and New England at the end of the week, with StormTeam 5 Chief Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon labeling Friday as an Impact Weather Day. The system, currently causing severe weather along the Gulf of Mexico coast, could bring another inch of rain to most of the area, with higher amounts near an inch and a half to southeastern Massachusetts. The heavier rain is forecasted for Friday morning, accompanied by stronger winds, with potential gusts of up to 50 miles per hour in some areas. Showers are expected on Thursday, and it will be a little breezy on Saturday and Sunday before a batch of showers moves in Sunday night.
