Korchinski Sparks Hawks in Preseason OT Loss to Wild
Chicago Blackhawks dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Minnesota Wild in a 2026 preseason game. Kevin Korchinski opened the scoring with a shot that Dominic Toninato tipped in; AJ Spellacy and Toninato also stood out, with Toninato leading the team in shots and faceoffs. The Blackhawks’ penalty kill was stellar, killing five penalties with Spellacy, Toninato and Landon Slaggert contributing on the PK, and Gavin Hayes setting up the first goal. Jiří Felcman took two penalties in the third period as Minnesota tied the game late; Söderblom was strong until Daemon Hunt’s rebound goal in OT was ruled in after review. Korchinski, Slaggert, and Ethan Del Mastro wore ‘A’ for the night, and the Hawks showed encouraging early-season depth despite the loss.
