Zack Snyder’s The Last Photograph will have its world premiere at TIFF 2026, screening Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the John Bassett Theatre at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre; the drama-thriller follows a former DEA agent on a revenge mission in the South American jungle, starring Stuart Martin, Fra Fee, Jackie Kay, Costanza Andrade, Carolina Henao and Marlon Moreno, with Snyder directing and co-writing with Kurt Johnstad.
Ken Russell’s controversial 1971 horror The Devils is being released in its original NC-17 cut via a 4K restoration based on Russell’s private 2004 edit, marking the first release under Warner Bros. Clockwork. The film, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed as Urbain Grandier, world-premiered at this year’s Cannes, is set to play at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, and will arrive in U.S. theaters on Oct. 16 for a limited, 35mm-exclusive engagement.
TIFF has unveiled its 2026 Gala and Special Presentations lineup, featuring world premieres from nearly 30 countries and high-profile titles from Cannes, Sundance, and more, including Fjord, Club Kid, Minotaur, La Bola Negra, and Gentle Monster; Sundance favorites Josephine and The Only Living Pickpocket in New York appear in Special Presentations, with opening night Being Heumann and closing night Villeneuve: The Rise of a Legend, as the festival runs September 10–20.
