Ken Russell’s The Devils Returns in NC-17 4K Restoration With Trailer

Ken Russell’s controversial 1971 horror The Devils is being released in its original NC-17 cut via a 4K restoration based on Russell’s private 2004 edit, marking the first release under Warner Bros. Clockwork. The film, starring Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed as Urbain Grandier, world-premiered at this year’s Cannes, is set to play at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, and will arrive in U.S. theaters on Oct. 16 for a limited, 35mm-exclusive engagement.
