Lost NASA Tool Kit Orbiting Earth at 17,000mph: Visible from Britain
A tool-kit dropped by NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O'Hara while fixing a solar panel on the International Space Station (ISS) is now orbiting the Earth at 17,000mph. The bright bag can be seen from the ground using binoculars or a telescope, and astronomers have identified the best viewing times. The bag, classified as space junk, is orbiting ahead of the ISS and was given the ID number 58229/1998-067WC. The astronauts accidentally lost the bag while lifting insulation during their spacewalk.
