Niewiadoma-Phinney seizes Ventoux yellow as Vollering rues missed gap
On Mont Ventoux during the Tour de France Femmes, Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney launched a long-range attack with about 9.7 km to go to grab the yellow jersey, while Demi Vollering earlier tried to close a gap and later staged a late surge but finished 1:16 behind. Vollering remains second in the GC, 15 seconds off the lead, as Reusser stayed in the chase and the stage reshapes the race heading into the final weekend. FDJ’s Nicolas Maire said the team pushed for a stage win and still believes an overall victory is possible.
