Meteor creates stunning light show across Queensland skies.

A bright light flashed across the sky in Townsville, Australia, on Saturday night, with multiple reports of blue, green, white, and orange flashes followed by a booming noise. Dashcam footage captured the incident, which was most likely caused by a meteor breaking apart as it neared Earth. Australian National University Astrophysicist Dr Brad Tucker confirmed it was a meteor, and the blue-green colour flashes seen were caused by the iron and nickel on the meteor heating up. Some reports suggest the meteor may have crashed in the Croydon area, 600km inland from Townsville.
