Former Overwatch boss Jeff Kaplan criticizes the gaming community’s toxic backlash, saying people who complain about games they’ve never played should simply stay quiet. He voiced the comment during a 10-hour livestream for his new open-world survival shooter, The Legend of California, produced by his indie studio Kintsugiyama. Kaplan, who left Blizzard in 2021 after 19 years, argues that informed opinions matter only if you’ll actually play the game, and he’s grown bored with outrage online. The Legend of California is set to enter early access later this year.
