GTA 6 Turns Car Theft Into a Strategic, Tool-Driven Challenge
GTA 6 overhauls its car-theft mechanic by layering access to vehicles: some cars require tools like a Slim Jim or a key cloner, others can be entered but may not start, and hotwiring isn’t universal. Cars must be registered and stored in a garage to become personal possessions, while trackers can alert police. A new Waink app lets players scan cars for locks, alarms, and value, adding planning and skill to hijacking and promising more rewarding gameplay when the game releases on PS5 and Xbox.
