Starship Version 3 Passes Key Static-Fire Milestone Ahead of May Flight
SpaceX conducted a full-duration static-fire test of Starship's Version 3 upper stage ahead of its first orbital flight (Flight 12) targeted for early-to-mid May. The 408.1-foot-tall V3 stack, powered by upgraded Raptors, can carry more than 100 tons to low Earth orbit—far surpassing the V2's capability—marking a major milestone toward NASA's Artemis lunar missions and SpaceX's bigger megarocket program.
