Saoirse Ronan Confirms She Is 'Dead Serious' About Playing a James Bond Villain
Saoirse Ronan has reaffirmed her desire to play a villain in the upcoming James Bond film, telling Empire she is 'dead serious' about the role. She argues that a young female antagonist would offer fresh dramatic tension, particularly for female audiences, by channeling anger rather than falling in love with the spy. Ronan, who has four Oscar nominations, previously expressed similar interest in 2024. The next Bond film is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve for Amazon MGM Studios, with auditions for the 007 role currently underway. Ronan is also promoting her new film 'Bad Apples,' in which she plays a teacher who holds a student captive, a role she describes as a 'nice villain.'
