France Compels Tech Giants to Purge Looted Goods Listings Amid Post-Riot Crisis
Following violent weekend riots in France, the government has summoned major online resale platforms, including Vinted, eBay, and Amazon, to remove listings for stolen goods. Digital Minister Anne Le Hénanff demanded immediate action and cooperation with police to identify sellers. Vinted confirmed it is removing suspicious listings, while eBay denied seeing a surge in stolen items. The unrest, which caused hundreds of millions of euros in damage, has prompted curfews and a new support fund for affected businesses.
