
Trump administration mulls secret Yosemite land swap with developer
Reports say the Trump administration is privately pursuing a land-exchange deal that would hand a parcel inside Yosemite National Park to private developer Kingsbarn Realty Capital in exchange for land elsewhere, to build a new road into the park. The plan, discussed since spring 2025 and subject to federal review, has drawn criticism from California lawmakers who say national parks should be protected rather than sold to private interests.
