Survey uncovers grilling sins, fears, and unwritten rules at the BBQ

A 5,000-person survey finds the biggest grilling sins are touching someone else’s grill (32%), skipping meat rest (31%), and lifting the lid too often (30%), with many Americans intimidated by grilling and especially nervous about cooking chicken. Whole chicken tops the list as the riskiest and most difficult item to grill, prompting many to stick to safer foods. Unwritten rules include not touching another’s grill without permission, letting meat rest before serving, and not opening the lid unnecessarily. Despite fears, nearly half would grill more if given more opportunities.
