T-Rex Skeleton Sells for Record Breaking $6 Million at Auction.

The skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex nicknamed 'Trinity' has sold at an auction in Switzerland for $6.1 million. The beast is made up of 293 bones from three different dinosaurs, measuring 12.8 feet high and 38.1 feet long. Trinity's skull was particularly rare and remarkably well-preserved. The sale of Trinity marks the first time in Europe, and the third time globally, that an entire T. Rex skeleton has been offered at auction. Palaeontologists have slammed the act of selling dinosaur remains to private collectors, with one saying that it's akin to 'the last copy of a book being thrown into the fire'.
