Deadly Tornadoes Strike Eastern US, Leaving Major Damage in Their Wake

At least three people have died and over 400,000 people are without power after tornadoes and severe storms hit Indiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, and Michigan. On Monday, severe weather is expected to threaten over 24 million people in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, with an "enhanced" risk of severe weather in the mid-Atlantic. The storms could bring hail as large as 2 inches, severe wind gusts, frequent lightning, and tornadoes. Excessive rainfall could also lead to flash flooding in urban areas, roads, and small streams. Parts of the South are facing an intense heat wave, with temperatures in the high 90s, while portions of the Northeast and Midwest will see cooler temperatures than usual for this time of year.
