Michigan Braces for Spring Storms and Possible Tornadoes

Severe thunderstorms with a high-end tornado and damaging wind gust area are expected in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin today. The storms are expected to move east and slightly northeast, reaching southwest Michigan this evening, where they could still be severe. The highest severe weather threat, a level two threat, covers the southwest corner of Lower Michigan, with an isolated tornado possible. The storms could move east-northeast across southern Lower Michigan in the second half of this evening, producing isolated severe wind gusts up through midnight. There is also a chance for large hail.
