Minnesota braces for multi-round severe storms with damaging winds and hail risk

Minnesota’s Weather Authority has a Forecast First ALERT for Wednesday as much of the state, including the Twin Cities, is under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3/5) for severe thunderstorms. The first round (midnight–5 AM) may form a squall line bringing damaging winds across western Minnesota, followed by a second round (2–5 PM) near I-35 with large hail and possible tornadoes; the morning clouds’ persistence could dampen the threat or push it east to Wisconsin. Highs in the upper 80s and very humid, with cooler, unsettled weather arriving late week.
