Severe Weather Alert: Tornadoes and Thunderstorms Threaten Indiana

A tornado watch has been issued for much of Indiana, including Indianapolis, until 1 a.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service warns of possible showers, thunderstorms, heavy rain, localized flooding, damaging winds, small hail, and dangerous lightning. They explain the difference between a tornado watch (be prepared) and a tornado warning (take action). Residents are advised to review emergency plans, check supplies, and be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued. Power outage and downed line reports can be made to AES Indiana and Duke Energy, while downed traffic signals or tree limbs blocking roads should be reported to the Mayor's Action Center.
