"Spring-like Sacramento Weather to Give Way to Heavy Rain and Snow Midweek"

Northern California will experience another mild day on Tuesday before heavy rain, snow, and wind arrive on Wednesday and Thursday. The rain is expected to start late Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday morning, with potential for an inch or more of rainfall in Valley locations and peak wind gusts of 40-45 mph. There is a moderate risk of street flooding in areas with poor drainage spots. Snow levels will start high on Wednesday, above 6,000 feet, and lower to about 5,000 feet on Thursday, with more than a foot of snow expected over the passes. Expect scattered showers from late Thursday morning into Friday, with the next round of rain coming in on Sunday.
