Winter Storm Ravages East Coast: Fatalities, Power Outages, and Flooding

The worst of the winter storm has passed in Rhode Island, but flood warnings are still in effect through Tuesday morning. Wind gusts could reach up to 30 mph, and rainfall accumulation ranged from 2 to 4.5 inches across the state. An 89-year-old man was killed in Hanover when high winds caused a tree to fall onto his trailer. Hundreds of thousands of customers are without power in New England, with Massachusetts and Maine being the most affected. Coastal flooding and road closures have been reported, and a ground stop was briefly issued at Logan Airport.
