The Association of Widefield Astrophotographers has captured a stunning image of the Andromeda Galaxy, the nearest major galaxy to our Milky Way. The photo, the result of a 100-hour project by six participants from the US, Poland, and the UK, proves that expensive equipment and dark skies are not necessary to create unique images of faint objects. Despite working within cities with varying levels of light pollution, the collaboration of these astrophotographers has produced an extraordinary image.
