Moon and Saturn's Celestial Cuddle Today

The moon and Saturn will have a close approach and conjunction in the sky on May 13, visible from early morning until just after midday. The two celestial bodies will share the same right ascension and be located in the constellation of Aquarius. While they will be too widely separated to fit in the field view of a telescope, they can be easily viewed together in the wider field of view of a pair of binoculars. The moon will pass within around 2°59' of Saturn, but they will remain widely separated in the solar system.
