NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station captured historic images of the total solar eclipse on April 8, as the moon's shadow moved across southeastern Canada. The ISS was strategically positioned for this event, and the eclipse was also observed by weather satellites, which captured the moon's shadow tracking across the landmass. The next total solar eclipse in North America is scheduled for March 30, 2033, in Alaska, and the next one in the contiguous U.S. will occur on August 23, 2044, in Montana and South Dakota.
